Salary: $15.00 to $16.00 / Hour for 35 Hours / Week

Work Setting: Cafeteria
Work Site Environment: Noisy, odours
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, walking; Standing for extended periods in warm and sometimes noisy settings; Bending, crouching, kneeling; Physically demanding.

Ability to Supervise: 1-2 people

Workers Supervised: Food service counter attendants and food preparers

Specific Skills: Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food; and who measure and combine ingredients, use heat sources and other equipment to bake goods such as donuts, bread, pastry, sandwiches, pizza, chicken and others. Estimate and order ingredients and supplies; Ensure food service and quality control; Ensure that each item meets food safety and quality control; Ensure that all food decorating and displaying of finished products meet the standards of the business and that the kitchen staff create amazing baked goods as this is essential; Supervise and check that deliveries of food orders are fulfilled accurately and on time; Ensure that workstations are cleaned, restocked and all equipment is sanitized for the next shift; Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage; Prepare and submit reports; Establish work schedules;

Additional Skills: Address customer’ complaints or concerns; Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures; Establish methods to meet work schedules; May perform some cashier duties when required;

May perform same duties as those supervised, including measuring and combining ingredients, heat sources, and other equipment to make baked goods, such as donuts, bread, pastry, sandwiches, pizza, chicken and others.


Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) School Certificate

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in food preparation or food service required

Personal Suitability: Effective interpersonal skills, team player, client focus, flexibility
